In the heart of Budapest lies the beautiful Margaret Island, where you can discover peace and stillness. It is a great place for a date or a picnic while watching and listening to the music fountain. Go out to play badminton, football or volleyball, meet your friends at the riverside or relax and practice yoga.
We would highly recommend visiting the Japanese garden, the medieval ruins and the petting zoo as well. For fun you can rent four-wheel bikes or golf carts to go from bridge (Margaret) to bridge (Árpád).
When it’s getting warmer during summer, do not miss Palatinus! It has thermal and cool water pools, giant slides and of course the unbeatable lángos – the typical beach food, best with sour cream and cheese.
From the city center just take tram no. 4/6 and get off at the stop called ‘Margitsziget/Margit híd’.
